North Las Vegas ZIP by ZIP and Neighborhood by Neighborhood

North Las Vegas has seven ZIP codes, and the age of the housing changes sharply from one to the next. The median home in 89030 was built in 1975. In 89086 it was built in 2014. That gap decides whether you need a worn out cylinder replaced or a keypad reset.

Use the table to find your ZIP, then read the neighborhood below it. Keep your nearest cross streets handy when you call, because North Las Vegas ZIP areas are large and a technician needs more than a ZIP to find your door.

North Las Vegas ZIP codes at a glance

ZIP and neighborhood names come from a Nevada Real Estate Group ZIP guide for North Las Vegas. Population and the median year homes were built come from the US Census Bureau American Community Survey. ZIP areas can cross city lines, so treat the numbers as a guide.

Reading the map before you call

Most North Las Vegas streets run on a long grid, and the ZIP guide uses a few of them as borders. Owens Avenue and Craig Road bound the historic ZIP 89030 on the south and north. North 5th Street divides 89031 and 89081 from the west side. Lamb Boulevard is the eastern edge of 89081, and Centennial Parkway marks the northern growth edge near the 215 Beltway. Naming two of these roads is the fastest way to tell us where you are standing.

Large lots add a second problem. An apartment complex, a warehouse yard and a shopping center can each sit behind one street address. When you call, give the street, the nearest cross street, the name of the building or store, and the door or unit number. If you are in a gated community, add the gate code. You can also check any locksmith before they work on your door, and our license page shows how.

Historic North Las Vegas (89030)

This is the original town. Of the 16,442 homes counted, 9,886 were built before 1980, about 60 percent, and nearly two of every three occupied homes are rented. The City of North Las Vegas describes Valley View Park on Bennett Street as part of one of the city's more mature sections, serving a neighborhood of single family homes.

  • Typical callsRekeys between tenants, front door cylinders that barely turn, and apartment lockouts. Our guide to rekeying or replacing locks when moving helps landlords choose.
  • DirectionsGive the cross streets and the unit number. Large apartment lots repeat the same building numbers, so name the building and the street you enter from.

The city lists Eldorado Park at 5900 Camino Eldorado Boulevard, a 10 acre park opened in 1990, and the ZIP guide places Craig Ranch Regional Park here too.

  • Typical callsOriginal builder hardware that is now 15 to 25 years old, house lockouts, and lost keys at the Craig Road shopping centers. See our house lockout service for how those visits go.
  • DirectionsCraig Road, Centennial Parkway and North 5th Street are the big landmarks. Give two cross streets and your subdivision name.

About 76 percent of occupied Aliante area homes are owner occupied, and 5,800 of 14,401 were built since 2010. In 89086 more than half the homes (2,404 of 4,184) are that new. A local realtor guide also names Valley Vista and Villages at Tule Springs as master plans, so give us your community name.

  • Typical callsKeypad and smart lock resets, battery failures and a keyed backup cylinder. Sun City Aliante is a 55 and older community, so ask about lever handles.
  • DirectionsTell us the community, the gate if any, and the nearest main street. New streets can be missing from some maps.
  • Moving inHomes bought new or resold in these ZIPs have often passed through a builder, a lender and an agent, and each may have handled a key. A rekey ends that trail in one visit.

Calls We Get in North Las Vegas

  • My tenant moved out and kept the keys. I need it rekeyed before the new people arrive tomorrow. We rekey the existing locks so the old keys no longer turn, which costs less than new hardware. You get fresh keys before the technician leaves.
  • The padlock on our loading dock gate seized and the truck is waiting. We cut or open the seized padlock, then install a replacement or a shrouded lock that stands up better to weather, dust and constant use.
  • I locked my keys in the car at a gas station on Craig Road.A technician opens the car with lockout tools that protect the door, window and seals. Most cars take only a few minutes once we arrive.
  • Our front door lock is so old the key barely turns. We check whether a rekey will fix it or the cylinder is worn out. If it needs replacing, you hear the cost before anything is installed.

How Fast We Reach North Las Vegas

North Las Vegas sits close to both I 15 and the 215, so our technicians usually reach most addresses within 20 to 30 minutes. Race weekend traffic near the Las Vegas Motor Speedway can slow us down. When a call will take longer, we tell you plainly on the phone.

Typical Locksmith Prices in North Las Vegas

Every figure in this paragraph is a typical Las Vegas price rather than a fixed rate, because your exact quote depends on the lock and the time of day. Rekeying costs about $20 to $50 per lock plus the visit, and installing a new deadbolt usually costs $100 to $300. Questions We Get Asked

Can you open a storage unit lock in North Las Vegas?

Yes, as long as you can show the unit belongs to you. Most storage facilities require proof of the rental agreement before anyone removes a lock, so bring your paperwork or call the office first. We then remove the old lock and can install a new disc lock, which means you hold the only working key.

Do you work on roll up doors and warehouse gates?

We do. Many businesses near I 15 secure roll up doors with padlocks, slide bolts or cylinder locks, and that hardware takes a beating from dust and summer heat. We open them when they fail, replace worn components, and can key several doors alike so a manager carries a single key for every loading bay.

Can you set up a master key system for my rental properties?

Yes. A master key system lets the owner carry one key that opens every unit, while each tenant carries a key that opens only their own door. We design the key chart, rekey the cylinders and cut the keys on site, and business estimates are free, so you know the cost before we begin.

Will you come to Aliante as well as the older parts of the city?

Absolutely. We cover all of North Las Vegas, from Aliante and the newer neighborhoods near the 215 down to the established streets around Lake Mead Boulevard. Our vans circulate through the northern valley throughout the day, so a technician is frequently already nearby when your call comes in.

Which ZIP code is Aliante in?

Aliante is in 89084, according to a local ZIP guide. The new area next to it, north of Grand Teton Drive, is 89085. If you are not sure, give your street and cross streets when you call.

How old are the locks in older North Las Vegas homes?

In 89030, the median home was built in 1975, and about 60 percent were built before 1980. Many doors there still have original hardware, so a worn cylinder may need replacing instead of a rekey.

Can a locksmith rekey a rental between tenants in North Las Vegas?

Yes. About 65 percent of occupied homes in 89030 are rented, and a rekey makes old keys stop working without a new lock. Home rekeys start at $79.99. See our residential locksmith page.

What should I have ready when I call from a newer North Las Vegas neighborhood?

Give your community name, the nearest main street, and any gate code. New streets can be missing from some map apps, so a cross street you can see is the best guide.
