We make and program Audi keys at your car in Las Vegas, 24/7, so you do not have to arrange a tow to the dealership. Our technician brings the key blanks, the cutting machine and the programming equipment in the van, and most Audi keys are finished in one visit right in the parking spot where the car sits.

If you lost the only key or it is locked inside the car, call us before you try anything that could damage the door or the alarm. We can open the car through our vehicle lockouts service, and then we make a new key that the immobilizer will accept.

  • Blade firstMany Audi fobs hide a small emergency blade that opens the driver door when the battery inside the remote is completely dead.
  • Slot keysIf your key pushes into the dashboard instead of turning, the car reads it electronically, so the replacement must be programmed as well as cut.
  • Keep the old fobA cracked or dead fob still helps us, because its blade and its stored information can make the replacement faster and simpler.
  • Price before workYou hear the full price on the phone, and the technician confirms that same price at the car before any cutting or programming starts.

Which Audi Key Do You Have?

Audi went from chip keys in the late 1990s to folding flip keys, then to remotes that slide into the dashboard, and now to keyless fobs that never leave your pocket while you drive.

  • Chip keyOlder Audis have a solid key with a plastic head that holds a transponder chip, which the immobilizer has to recognize before the engine will run. We cut the blade on our machine and then match the chip to the car.
  • Flip keyThis is the folding key with lock buttons that most Audi owners picture when they think of the brand. We cut the blade, program the remote buttons and pair the transponder chip, all while the car stays parked.
  • Dash slot keyMany Audis from the later 2000s on use a remote that you push into a slot before pressing a start button, and it still carries a small emergency blade. The whole unit must be programmed to the car, so it is more involved than a flip key.
  • Advanced keyThis is Audi's name for its keyless fob, which lets you open the doors and start the engine without taking it out of your pocket. It costs more to replace, and a few newer models need the dealer for one step, and we tell you up front if yours is one of them.

Audi Models and Their Keys

Audi A3

The A3 came to the US in the mid 2000s with a flip key that holds a transponder chip. The newer generation that arrived around 2015 still uses a remote with a folding blade on many cars, while higher trims added keyless entry and push to start.

Audi A4

Early A4s from the late 1990s use a chip key, and flip keys took over during the early 2000s. Around 2009 the A4 moved to the dash slot key, and many later cars have the keyless advanced key as well.

Audi A6

The A6 used chip keys and then flip keys through the early 2000s, until the redesign in the mid 2000s brought the remote that pushes into the dashboard. Later models offer keyless entry and push button starting on most trims.

Audi Q5

The Q5 reached the US around 2009 with the dash slot style remote, and keyless entry with push to start became common on later trims. Check whether your fob ever leaves your pocket when you drive, because that tells us which replacement to bring.

The R8 has used a remote fob with built in security since it arrived in the late 2000s, and later cars added keyless starting. Replacement parts for this car cost more than for other Audis, so we confirm before the visit whether your R8 needs a dealer step.

Audi SQ5

The SQ5 came to the US around 2014 as the faster version of the Q5, and it uses the same family of dash slot remotes and keyless fobs. Most of these vehicles start with a push button rather than a turning key.

Audi TT

The first TT from around 2000 used a flip key with a chip, and the second generation kept a folding remote. The newer TT that arrived in the mid 2010s offers keyless starting on many trims, so the model year matters when you call.

How We Make a New Audi Key

  1. 1

    Tell us the car

Give us the year, the model and whether the key folds, pushes into the dashboard or stays in your pocket, because each one needs different equipment.

  2. 2

    Show your papers

When the technician arrives, we check your photo ID plus the registration or title before making any key for the vehicle.

  3. 3

    Cut and pair

We cut the blade first and then program the remote and the transponder chip, so the car recognizes the new key as its own.

  4. 4

    Test everything

You lock, unlock and start the car yourself before we leave, and we can erase any lost keys from the car's memory while we are there.

What an Audi Key Costs in Las Vegas

On a typical Las Vegas call, a transponder key with programming usually runs $150 to $350, and Audi smart fobs cost more than that because the remote and the immobilizer information both have to match the car. An older Audi with a basic cut key usually costs $50 to $180.

Nights, weekends and holidays usually add $25 to $75 to the visit. For more detail on how locksmith pricing works around town, read how much a locksmith costs in Las Vegas.

Make a Spare Before You Need One

A second key made while you still have a working one is a simple copy and pairing job, which keeps the price down. Once every key is gone, the car has to be opened and a key built from scratch, and that takes longer and costs more, so adding a spare Audi key now is one of the cheapest fixes on our car keys list.

Owning an Audi in Las Vegas

Las Vegas heat is hard on Audi fobs, because a remote left on the dashboard in July can lose battery life quickly, and a weak battery is often the reason the car says no key found. If you park in Strip casino garages or covered apartment lots, keep the fob out of direct sunlight and replace the coin battery once a year.
