City of Las Vegas Locksmith License #P64-00012

We make keys for every Hummer on site in Las Vegas, Henderson and North Las Vegas, 24/7. The original Hummer brand ended after 2010, but these trucks are still all over the valley, and the newer Hummer EV is sold by GMC. We cut and program right at the vehicle, so there is no reason to arrange a tow.

If your keys are locked in the truck, our vehicle lockouts team can open it first, and then we can make a spare key during the same visit if you need one.

  • Big trucks, simple keysThe H1 and many early H2s use a plain cut key, which keeps the job simple and the price lower.
  • Chip keys laterLater H2s and every H3 use transponder keys that have to be programmed before the engine will run.
  • Hummer EVThe electric Hummer from GMC uses a keyless fob and push to start, similar to other current General Motors trucks.
  • Proof firstWe check photo identification plus the registration or title before producing any Hummer key.

Which Hummer Key Do You Have?

Hummer keys progress from plain metal keys on the H1 to transponder keys on the later H2 and the H3, and now to a keyless fob on the GMC Hummer EV.

  • Plain cut keyThe H1 and early H2 use a metal key with no chip, and on the early H2 the anti theft electronics sit in the ignition cylinder instead of the key. We cut these from the original key code or by decoding the lock.
  • Chip keyThe H3 and later H2 trucks use a key with a transponder chip in the head, and a copy without the chip may open the doors but will not start the engine. We cut and program the replacement right at the truck.
  • Remote fobMost Hummers came with a separate remote for the door locks, and those remotes get lost or cracked over the years, so we can replace and pair a missing remote on most model years.
  • Keyless fobThe Hummer EV uses a keyless fob with push to start, and a replacement has to be programmed to the truck. We tell you up front if any part of that process requires the dealer.

Hummer Models and Their Keys

The civilian H1 was built from 1992 to 2006 and uses a plain cut key, so there is no transponder chip to program. A new key comes from the original code or the lock, and many H1s are kept as collector vehicles today.

The H2 ran from 2003 to 2009, and the SUT pickup version joined the lineup a little later. Early trucks use a plain cut key, while later trucks from around 2008 moved to a transponder key that requires programming.

The H3 was sold from 2006 to 2010, and the H3T pickup arrived at the very end of that production run. Both use a transponder key, and we cut the blade and program the chip at the truck.

The Hummer name returned in 2022 as a GMC electric model, available in both pickup and SUV form. It uses a keyless fob with push to start, and we tell you up front if any programming step requires the dealer.

How We Make a New Hummer Key

  1. 1

    Year and model

Tell us which Hummer you drive and what year it is, so we bring either a plain key or a transponder key.

  2. 2

    We drive out

We meet you at home, at the shop, or wherever the truck happens to be parked, including job sites and storage yards around the valley.

  3. 3

    Cut and program

We cut the key to your locks and program the transponder chip when your truck uses one.

  4. 4

    Start it up

We start the engine several times and test the doors and the remote before we leave, so you know the replacement operates correctly.

What a Hummer Key Costs in Las Vegas

A plain cut key for an H1 or early H2 usually runs $50 to $180 in Las Vegas, while a chip key for an H3 or later H2 is typically $150 to $350. The Hummer EV fob costs more than that, and nights, weekends and holidays usually add $25 to $75.

The price changes with the key type and whether you have a working key we can copy. Our guide on what a locksmith costs in Las Vegas breaks down the remaining factors, and you always hear the number first.

Make a Spare Before You Need One

A Hummer that sits in the garage for weeks is easy to forget about until the only key goes missing. Copying a working key now is a quick visit, while producing one with no key requires more steps and costs more. See the other car keys we cut and program.

Owning a Hummer in Las Vegas

Hummers here get used for desert trips, tour operations and weekend runs out of town, so carrying a spare key makes real sense, because a lost key far from the city means a long wait for anyone to reach you. In town, we come to home garages, apartment complexes and shop yards across the valley.
