We cut and program Lexus keys at your car in Las Vegas, Henderson and North Las Vegas, day or night. Older Lexus models use a transponder key that turns in the ignition, while most Lexus models from the mid 2000s on use a smart key with push to start, and we bring the correct one for your model year.
If you are locked out of your Lexus, our vehicle lockouts service can get you back inside, and we can produce a spare key during the same visit.
- Smart AccessLexus calls its keyless system Smart Access, and it spread across the entire lineup during the 2000s.
- Valet keyMany Lexus owners have a valet key in the glovebox, which starts the engine but will not open the trunk.
- Card keySome Lexus models offered a thin card key that fits in a wallet next to your credit cards.
- Hidden keyEvery Lexus smart key holds a metal key inside for the driver door when the battery dies.

Which Lexus Key Do You Have?
Lexus used transponder keys from the late 1990s, then introduced its Smart Access keyless system model by model during the 2000s.
- Chip keyOlder Lexus models use a key with a transponder chip in the head, often with a separate remote on the ring, and we cut the blade and program the chip at the vehicle.
- Remote head keySome years placed the lock buttons directly into the head of the transponder key, so everything is one piece, and both the chip and the remote have to be programmed.
- Smart keyThis is the Smart Access fob that stays in your pocket while you press start, and most Lexus models moved to it in the mid to late 2000s. We program a replacement to the vehicle on site.
- Card keyA thin smart key about the size of a credit card came with certain models. It operates the same way as the fob and gets programmed the same way.
Lexus Models and Their Keys
Lexus IS

The first IS sold in the US in the early 2000s uses a transponder key with a separate remote. The redesigned IS from 2006 introduced Smart Access and push to start, and later IS models continue with the smart key.
Lexus LS

Early LS sedans use a cut key, transponder keys arrived by the late 1990s, and the LS of the early 2000s offered Smart Access on some cars. From around 2007 the LS uses a smart key with push to start as standard equipment.
Lexus RX

The first RX from the late 1990s to 2003 uses a transponder key, and the 2004 redesign added Smart Access on many of them. Later RX models use a smart key with push to start.
Lexus GS

Older GS sedans use a transponder key that you turn in the ignition, while the GS redesigned for 2006 moved to a smart key with push to start, and it continued with that arrangement afterward.
Lexus GX

The first GX from the 2000s uses a transponder key with a remote, while the second generation from 2010 moved to a smart key with push to start on most vehicles. Mention your model year and we will bring the correct key.
Lexus LX

Older LX trucks use a transponder key with a separate remote, while the LX that arrived for 2008 uses a smart key with push to start. We program either type right at the vehicle.
Lexus ES

The ES used a transponder key that you turn in the ignition through the 2006 model year. The 2007 redesign moved it to Smart Access with push to start, and most ES sedans since then use a smart key.
How We Make a New Lexus Key
- 1
Check for a start button
A start button on the dash means a smart key, while a key slot in the steering column means a transponder key.
- 2
Show ownership
Have photo identification plus the registration or title ready for us when the technician arrives.
- 3
Program the key
We cut any emergency blade and program the new transponder key or smart key to your Lexus.
- 4
Confirm it works
We start the engine and test the doors and trunk with the new key before we leave.
What a Lexus Key Costs in Las Vegas
A transponder key for an older Lexus usually runs $150 to $350 in Las Vegas with programming included. Lexus smart keys cost more than that, because the fob itself is more expensive and the setup takes longer, and nights, weekends and holidays usually add $25 to $75.
Your model year and whether you still have a working key are the two biggest factors that move the final price.
Make a Spare Before You Need One
A Lexus with one working smart key is in a much better position than one with none at all. Adding a key to a vehicle that already has one is the quicker and less expensive job, while a car with every key gone requires additional steps first. See our full list of car keys, or contact us to arrange a spare.
Owning a Lexus in Las Vegas
We meet Lexus owners at homes, offices, and hotel and casino garages up and down the Strip. A smart key that rides in a hot car all day can lose its battery early, and the vehicle may stop recognizing it, although on many Lexus models you can still start the engine by holding the key against the start button.
Questions We Get Asked
Does a 2005 Lexus RX have a smart key?
Many do, since Lexus added its Smart Access system to the RX starting in 2004, while earlier RX models used a physical metal key. Look for a push to start button or keyless entry. We can program a smart key or cut a metal key on site.
Can you make a key for a 2005 Lexus ES?
Yes, most ES models through 2006 used a metal style key, while later models moved to the Smart Access system. For a 2005 ES, we usually cut the key and program its chip right where the car is parked in Las Vegas, after confirming ownership.
How do I prove the Lexus is mine?
Show us a photo ID plus the registration or title, because we check both before making any key to keep vehicles safe from theft. If those papers are inside the locked glove box, we can open the car first and review them there before starting the key work.
Can you come to my hotel or casino garage?
Yes, we are a mobile service, so we come to hotel garages, casino lots, homes and offices across Las Vegas and the nearby areas. We are open 24/7. When you call, share the garage name and level, and we will meet you at your vehicle.
