We make Subaru keys at your vehicle anywhere in Las Vegas, Henderson and North Las Vegas, 24/7. Older Subarus take a plain key, many from the 2000s use a transponder key, and newer Subarus often use a smart key with push to start, so we cut and program everything on site without a tow to the dealer.
If you are locked out at a trailhead parking lot or in your own driveway, our vehicle lockouts service gets you back inside, and then we can produce a spare.
- Chip keys arrived laterSubaru added transponder keys somewhat later than other brands, and the exact year varies by model.
- Remote head keysMany Subarus from the late 2000s and 2010s have the lock buttons built directly into the key head.
- Smart key on higher trimsBase trims often keep a turn key while higher trims receive a smart key with push to start.
- Keys for outdoor tripsA spare key matters even more when you drive out to Red Rock or Mount Charleston.

Which Subaru Key Do You Have?
Subaru moved from plain keys to transponder keys in the mid 2000s, then to remote head keys, and then to smart keys with push to start on many newer trims.
- Plain cut keyOlder Subarus use a metal key with no electronics inside, which we cut from the original key code or by decoding the lock.
- Chip keyThis key has a transponder chip in a plastic head and usually a separate remote on the ring, and the chip has to be programmed or the engine will not run.
- Remote head keyThe transponder chip and the lock buttons are combined in a single key head, so we cut the blade and program both parts to the vehicle.
- Smart keyThis fob stays in your pocket while you press the start button, and most newer Subarus offer it on certain trims. We program it at the vehicle.

What a Subaru Key Costs in Las Vegas
A Subaru chip key or remote head key usually runs $150 to $350 in Las Vegas with programming included. A plain key for an older Subaru is usually $50 to $180, smart keys cost more than a transponder key, and nights, weekends and holidays usually add $25 to $75.
The price depends on the key type, the trim and whether you have a working key to copy, and our guide to what a locksmith costs in Las Vegas explains the remaining details.
Make a Spare Before You Need One
Subaru drivers here tend to head out of town, and a lost key far from home means a long wait. Adding a second key to a vehicle that already has one is quick, while starting from no key is a bigger job, so make the spare now and keep it somewhere safe at home. See the other car keys we make.
Owning a Subaru in Las Vegas
Many Subaru owners in Las Vegas use their vehicles for trips to Red Rock, Lake Mead and Mount Charleston, and dust and heat are hard on remotes and fob batteries over time. In town, we come to apartment complexes, offices and store parking lots across the valley.
